Gourd Family and Friends

Shortly after Thanksgiving, our home lacked a little luster, and seeing as studying is overrated, my suitey and I decided to transform our old Thanksgiving gourds into masterpieces. Honestly, this whole project stemmed from the brilliant mind of yours truly ;)

 

We started with two gourds. With our extremely creative and well-developed minds, we envisioned expressive faces for their warty surface.  Using Sharpies we drew the faces on bits of paper and cut them out to glue on the gourds.

Our true epiphanic moment came when our eyes came to rest upon the two mini pie-pans that we had taken from the Dining Commons to reuse. We had originally planned on using them as hats for crafted snowman. The little gourdettos looked a lil bare though so on the hats went! We added a little black bow and a small fresh daisy to embellish one of the hats which we used for the girl gourd, who we soon dubbed Patricia. Her husband, Gordo, rocking a purple stache and a polka-dot tie, adores her dearly.

So the fam was doing pretty great but the gordettos were yearning for some offspring of their own. Seeing how....they're gourds... we had to create an additional member for the family. Using a certain salt shaker ( :D), a goldfish (the snack that smiles back), and scrap paper we made a fish tank!
